OREANDA-NEWS  American McDonald's is developing a cheap combo offer amid consumer savings at fast food restaurants associated with rising prices, NBC News reports.

McDonald's is working on a special combo offer for $5 amid the fact that low-income consumers are refusing to spend at fast food restaurants," the TV channel reports.

We are talking about a combo that can include a burger, four chicken nuggets, potatoes and a drink, the report says. According to the TV channel, the offer is being created at a time when low-income customers refuse to spend, in particular on fast food restaurants.

The channel quotes the network's CEO Chris Kempczynski, who in a letter to employees about revenue in the first quarter stated that "consumers continue to be even more picky about every dollar spent, as they face rising prices in everyday expenses."

McDonald's was founded in 1940 by brothers Dick and Mac McDonald. The first restaurant opened in San Bernardino (California, USA). In 1948, the company formulated the principles of the "fast food" concept for the first time in the world.

The American network withdrew from the Russian market in 2022, selling the business to the company's licensee Alexander Govor. Now he runs restaurants under the new brand "Delicious - period." As of January 1, there are more than 880 network points operating in 64 regions of the Russian Federation.
